What unique ingredients are included in our skin care regimen?

Algae Peptides - This leading-edge ingredient is extracted from Hawaiian red sea algae. It has a high content of a protein called hydroxyproline. This unique protein is responsible for helping the skin to make new collagen. Clinical laboratory testing has proven that topical application of algae peptides results in a decrease in the appearance of wrinkles, an increase in skin firmness, smoothness, and moisture and soothing of irritated skin.

Glycolic (Alpha Hydroxy) Acid - Glycolic acid occurs naturally as the acid of sugar cane. Dermatologists have studied its positive effects on our skin for more than twenty years. Our physician-strength glycolic products are very effective yet gentle enough for sensitive skin. Glycolic has been shown to decrease the dead skin layer, increase the thickness of the living skin, help to even out the skin tone, and keep the pores clean. It gently sloughs away dull, damaged skin and helps remove the dead, lackluster looking outer layers of the skin, leaving the skin with a healthy glow.

Salicylic (Beta Hydroxy) Acid - This gentle exfoliating ingredient has long been used in dermatologic preparations, but only recently has it gained popularity and recognition for effectiveness at gently reversing the signs of aging skin and keeping the skin surface smooth. Our formulations contain the maximum allowable concentration for daily skin care products. They work deep within the skin's surface to unclog pores and remove dead cells and debris.

Sphingolipids & Ceramides - These lipids are present in young, healthy skin. They hydrate the skin by trapping in its natural water content. With aging and environmental stresses, lipids decrease and our skin appears drier and more lackluster. Replacement of lipids restores skin moisture and healthy glow.

Herbal Extracts - Our unique complex of Kola, Matte and Guarana extracts has been specially created to soothe and minimize skin irritation and promote healing. Chamomile is added for its anti-inflammatory and calming properties.

Hyaluronic Acid - This protein is found naturally in the deeper layers of our skin (the dermis). It holds up to 1000 times its weight in water to intensely moisturize without irritation.

Oxygen Formulations - Oxygen therapy is the use of oxygen preparations to increase cellular oxygen consumption. It has been shown that topical oxygen actually increases the amount of the "energy" source - the Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP) present in our cells. This rejuvenates skin since young cells are richer in intracellular ATP, while aging cells (and skin exposed to smoke and lack of exercise) have less ATP.

L-Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) - This antioxidant ingredient is a photoprotective substance. Although it doesn't work like sunscreen, studies show that it helps to prevent the microscopic signs of acute sun damage, the so-called "sunburn cell." We also need vitamin C to make new collagen in our skin. When topical L-Ascorbic acid is applied to the surface of the skin, 20 times more vitamin C is absorbed than when we take it by mouth.

Other Vitamins and Antioxidants - These nourish the skin and protect against free radical damage. They also help repair environmentally damaged skin. Titanium Dioxide - This "non-chemical" sunscreen ingredient is gaining recognition for two main reasons. First, it is an excellent blocker of the sun's UVA rays which are responsible for skin aging and skin cancer. Also, titanium dioxide formulations are gentle enough to be used on a daily basis on even the most sensitive skin.
